ARCHIVED VIDEO LINKS FOR VEDANTA CLASSES

Atlanta GA - Monday April 18th and Tuesday April 19th, 2016

Sri Rudram

This is perhaps the most widely chanted vedic hymn in praise of Lord Shiva in the form of Rudra. All the mantras in this hymn beautifully reveal the omnipresence of the Lord. The famous five-syllabled mantra, Namah Shivaaya, is from this great hymn.

Madhuvidya
This is a vakya from the Brhadaranyakaupanishad. Madhuvidya unfolds the vision of the atman as sweet as honey. It is a dialogue between ??i Daddhyan? and the Asvini twins.

Yati Panchakam
(5 talks 1.5 hours each): Also known as Kaupina Panchakam, this famous quintet is attributed to Adi Sankara. While praising the sannyasin as the most fortunate, the verses highlight the inner disposition of the renunciant as the one who is free of longing, and therefore is carefree and happy

Nirvana Shatkam and Meditation
(6 talks of 1 hour each): Nirvana Shatkam is a contemplative set of verses that reiterate the the vision of Vedanta, and affirm one's identity as the truth of the universe, saccidananda, the source of everything. This atma is beyond the body-mind-senses and all the attributes with which one gets entagled in the course of the day. The first three talks also include short 10 minute meditations in the beginning.

(8 talks and 2 Q and A Satsang Sessions): This excerpt from the Taittiriya Upanishad is invaluable for understanding the truth of oneself as limitless. It also clarifies that "ananda" the nature of the experiencer rather a discrete or special experience of joy.
