Health and Well-Being
Vedanta addresses and removes feelings of inadequacy and insecurity, showing us that one is whole and complete, free from the unhappiness and limitations we have associated with ourselves.Increasingly, doctors and other professionals are discovering the relationship between physical, mental and emotional health. Studies have shown that commonplace emotions and thoughts such as low self-esteem, fear, insecurity, and unhappiness have a major impact on our overall wellness, often manifesting as physical illness. In fact, the current medical crisis surrounding obesity, alcoholism and other addictive illnesses largely finds its roots in feelings of inadequacy and unhappiness. Vedanta addresses and removes these feelings of inadequacy and insecurity, showing us that one is whole and complete, free from the unhappiness and limitations we have associated with ourselves. To support the well-being helpful for gaining self-knowledge, Arsha Vijnana Gurukulum will offer programs and retreats in yoga and meditation. People of all ages and backgrounds benefit from studying yoga and meditation. Unlike many other practices, yoga and meditation offer multi-dimensional support, helping develop physical strength with a matching development in emotional strength. This combination helps people handle the challenges of life with a balanced disposition, as well as enhances one’s capacity and discipline for both secular and spiritual pursuits. Additionally, a portion of the land will be used for growing Native and Ayurvedic herbal plants. Over time, we can offer workshops and retreats for managing common ailments, and seeking relief from chronic conditions with the help of herbal medicine. We can also offer classes in Ayurvedic cookery. |
